I just sold my Ground Control Pro on eBay. This controller was in mint condition when I sold it. Barely ever used. The date of the unit is 2012. Here is the message I just received from the buyer.
Got the unit and it appeared in good shape coming out of the box, however after I started it up and did really nothing but sit there while I read the manual, the display went all wonky and just reads a string of zeros on the first half of the display. Now it is one zero and a bunch of blanks. Its plugged into a GCX ground control. My old beat up 20 year old GC pedal works fine plugged into the same GCX.
Any suggestions. Please help.
Used GCP showing string of zero's on display
Re: Used GCP showing string of zero's on display
First suggestion is always to power it up using the original power supply (or any 9VAC adapter with at least a 500mA rating) with no MIDI cables connected to see if it does the same thing.
If it still acts up, and the buyer feels comfortable with it, they can call us directly and we can direct on how to open the unit up and check if one of the socketed chips somehow came loose.
I hope that helps!

Thank you for the fast reply. I sent him this link. Hopefully there is nothing wrong. I never had an issue with this unit.
Re: Used GCP showing string of zero's on display
I gave the gentleman a refund. I had total confidence in selling this GCP as in "mint condition". Embarrassing, but it can happen.
Here was the last message from him. He sounds like he knows the units well. So the GCP I sold him must have had problems that I just wasn't aware of when I last used it.
Once I get the unit back, I'll try to get it fixed.
Here is his last message;
Yeah I reset it and although it shouldn't have wigged out like that in the first place to require a reset. It was just sitting there and the first half of the display except the first box went to zeros while I was checking out the manual. After the reset, the first and 11th display box don't light and some character bars don't light in other display boxes although it cleared the zero issue. Seems to be erratic and something causing it to be unreliable, which is my bigger concern.
PS I have been using a GCX and Ground control since they were Digital Music Corp and am familiar with how it should work so this is not a user error thing. Really is a bummer too as it is otherwise is really clean.
