Long time lurker, first time poster. I tried searching but couldn't find anything definitive.

Did the V2 software/chip for GCP never get off the ground?

I'm currently using a GCP and GCX and I'd like to add another of each but ideally have the controlling setup so that I had 12x Instant Access on GCP 1 and 8x Instant Access + 4 Presets available on GCP 2.

I don't believe this is currently possible? (from what I'm reading)

I found some posts about a V2 update that would allow for something along these lines but haven't been able to track down any posts from the last few years.

Any info is much appreciated!

GCP V2 firmware is available from Voodoo Lab at a relatively small cost, the nice folks there will get you taken care of with a simple phone call.

What you want to do is possible with V2 - you will want to update both of the GCP to V2.

I'm am currently running 2 GCP with V2 and 3 GCX, I run one GCP 12 IA and one GCP in 10 preset mode as this allows to step through preset, but have used it in 4 preset mode as well.

The proper way to connect would be:

GCP 1 (as 4 preset Mode) Midi out to GCP 2 (as 12 IA Mode) Midi In
GCP 2 (as 12 IA Mode) Midi out to GCX Pedal In.

This will show active loops on GCP 2 that were made active by the presets on GCP 1

You will need a power supply for GCP 1 as only GCP 2 will receive power from the GCX.

Setup is simple and if you run a current GCP then you will be able to figure out V2.

You will need to re - program your GCP once you upgrade as V2 is not compatible with older versions.

You should do a bulk dump memory backup before you install V2 in case you want to go back and use your current chip.

Got my chips today and I think I've got a 2nd GCP and GCX lined up but I haven't got them yet.

A question I probably should have asked before doing this... How many banks will I end up with?

GCP 1 (4preset + 8 instant access)
GCP 2 (12 instant access)

I'm hoping that because GCP1 is still in 4+8 mode I'll still have 36 banks of 4 presets but maybe this is wishful thinking?

So I was slightly panicked that there was only going to be two preset banks available with the V2 chips but from reading old posts on here I'm now thinking that I'll be able to do this?

GCP 1 - 8xIA + 4preset, 36 banks
GCP2 - 12 IA x 2 pages

So I can scroll through 36 banks of 4 presets and in each I'll have access to 32 IA!?

If so, my life is complete.

Yes you can have Ground Control Pro #1 in 4 Presets per Bank mode and have Ground Control Pro #2 in Instant Access mode. Totally part of the original plan.

So in this configuration I'll have 4 presets, 36 banks, and 32 IA switches?

Ground Control Pro #1 will be as it always is when in 4 Presets per Bank Mode, so yes... 36 Banks of 4 Presets each and Eight Instant Access buttons.
Ground Control Pro #2 will have the new IA Mode with two Banks of 12 Instant Access buttons.
