question for the pros

I am running 4 GCX, and 2 GCP, for 20 available presets without using any banks. I need to add one more GCX if at all possible. can I add it as another midi device, I know I can use the two GCP independently and add up to four more, but then I would lose control of #1-4 GCX with the 2nd GCP..or would I. As it is now, 9 amps, 3 amp selects, assorted pedals, processors, etc.
GCX 1&2 control anything pre amplifiers, then all the amps. GCX 3 is all fx loop functions on the amps that have them. GCX 4 is channel switching.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Lee

Wow! We're going to have to see some pictures of this one sometime!
I would suggest a Control Switcher or two to take over the amplifier Channel Switching duties. They can be controlled via MIDI Program Changes and that way won't interfere with the dual controller setup you have going on already.
I hope that helps!

John
Thanks so much for the reply. Can I use the contol switchers just as midi devices, I thought each switcher would be recognized as one of the expanders / GCX 1-4 when used with GCP
Thanks

That is a feature of them for easy setup, that they will auto configure as half of a GCX... but if you first program them to respond to MIDI Program Changes on the MIDI Channel of your choice, they will ignore that "auto-configure" and act as any other MIDI Device that you would name in the Ground Control Pro.
I hope that helps!
