Expression Pedal setup issue

Hi all..I'm having an issue getting my expression pedal to control the whammy function on my G major 2.
I've followed the manual for the TC stuff and feel like it's all setup properly in there. I.E. Pitch block, whammy setting, pedal is calibrated, mod1 is selected, etc.
On the GPC..edit mode shows that the pedal sweeps from 0-127. I have tried with PitchBend set and its on P1. P1 is also on in setup mode.
I'm using an M Audio expression pedal. BTW my Boss FV-500 does not sweep for some reason? Do you have to use a particular cable to the GPC? Tip, ring type?
Any ideas what could be the problem?
Thanks

I forgot to mention if I hook up the expression pedal to the Tc Gmajor 2 input for the EXP. in the back it controls it well. If I put in P1 on the GPC it won't recognize it.

You will not use the "Pitch Bend" setting... you will need to set a Control Change message that matches the Modifier setting within the G-Major 2.
When you edit a Ground Control Pro preset, go to the P1 screen and set the "CTL #" using the Data + and - buttons. (Personally I like to set this to match the G-Major Modifier number I will be using... so 1, 2, 3, or 4.)
Let us know if you get stuck!

It's strange because I set my GPC to P1 CTL 001 and my G Major2 to Mod 1 CC1 and they don't read each other.
I tried a couple other CC#s but no luck. Even the learn function doesn't pick it up which I don't get.
Thanks for the help so far..I'm determined to figure this out ha

Do you maybe have more than one MIDI Device named within the Ground Control Pro? If so, make sure the G-Major 2 is the target device for the Expression Pedal otherwise you will be transmitting the Control Change on the wrong MIDI Channel.
Also, I just noticed your connection question. Yes, the Ground Control Pro Pedal jack is expecting a TRS plug. You will either need a Stereo Cable or an Insert Point Cable depending on the expression pedal you are using. However, if you see the numbers sweep when you use the M-Audio pedal, then that one is good to go!

When you are editing a preset, go to the "P1" screen and press the Cursor Right button to get to the next screen. Here you will use the Select Up/Down buttons to select the target device. Default is the first device in the list so this is most likely the reason you are not seeing any response on the G-Major 2.
Let us know how it goes!

You are the man! Thank you. Just in time for my rehearsal tomorrow as well.
By any chance is there a way to set tap tempo with the GPC and Gmajor2.?
It's not much of a big deal since most of my songs I'm programming delay times but could be something in the future when writing or jamming.
Thanks

I set up instant access button-8 as my tap tempo on the GCP (some like to use instant access 4 but I can't reach that one as easy as I can for instant access button-8). You look in the G MAJ 2 parameters to see what the tap tempo cc# is. Then, assign the instant access button of your choice to the same cc# and make sure the target is the G MAJ 2. Also, make sure the GCP instant access button you choose is set to "normal" instead of "momentary"... I initially changed mine to "momentary" as I thought that would be correct. However, "normal" is what will make it work...
