Odd Switching Behavior

I have a midi controlled rig that has been for the most part, functioning the way it is intended. I normally do not have the opportunity to use this in my house due to the weight of the rack case and the fact that the main living floor in my house is the 2nd floor. I was able to get some help with it up the stairs so i could do some tweaking. Out of all of the devices that I have in my rig, i noticed one that was acting oddly... i use a source audio programmable eq as a boost pedal in the front of my amp. depending on which preset i have called up, i may or may not have it engaged via midi. my typical clean tone doesn't have it in there, because i want it clean clean. I'm seeing that the pedal is sometimes turned on with this preset. this same thing happens occasionally with other presets.
Now before people ask if the instant access setting is for "xmit with preset", i did check and it is configured accordingly. there isn't anything else on that same midi channel to potentially confuse it, so I'm not sure what is happening here... any thoughts?

What is the MIDI path through this rig? If you move the MIDI EQ further up the chain does the intermittent switching stay the same?

John,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately, I am not in front of my rig to trace it out. I'll give it a go based on my memory... GCP>GCX>Line6 Echo Pro>Digitech GSP1101>MIDI Solutions splitter (4-way)>(path 1)>Torpedo Live #1
>(path 2)>Torpedo Live #2
>(path 3)>TC Electronic Nova Drive
>(path 4)>Strymon Mobius>EQ Pedal
I can certainly try to move it around somewhere else in the chain. I actually thought of this exact potential problem after reading one of your replies to another recent thread. I have read that having too many devices in a serial MIDI chain can be problematic, but haven't really experienced until now (if this in fact is the issue...). Perhaps i'll try throwing another splitter earlier in the chain to "fool" it into working properly.

I'd start just by swapping the Mobius and the EQ on path 4 just to see what happens. Another quick test would be to run directly out of the GCX to the EQ alone just to see if it still does the same thing.
Let us know what you find!

I think the 2nd suggestion would be the best place to ultimately start. thanks!
