Alternate power for GCX

Hey all, I just recently got a couple of pieces of rack gear, one of which was the GCX audio switcher (a ground control comming soon too).

I was hoping if there was an alternate and shorter cable to connect the GCX to the power conditioner (with IEC connections) instead of the one supplied with the transformer and 2 pin european plug.

Any help would be great,
Thanks

The export power supply for the GCX can be modified to both shorten the cable as well as re-configure to the input connector most appropriate for your situation. Any electronic tech/repair shop should be able to do this for you. In this case you will likely need a Reverse IEC to mate up with your power conditioner.
If you want to try to find a different power supply all together you will need one appropriate for the power you are providing that outputs 9VAC @ 1A. The 4 Pin DIN connector on the GCX is set up such that the two pins on the left are one side of the AC output and the two pins on the right are the other side of the AC output.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

Would there be a wiring diagram you could send me, so that i can show it to the tech.

Here is a diagram that shows the pin configuration of the 4 Pin DIN jack on the GCX.

hi there, I have the need for this too!

Would I be able to simply do it myself using this.

I would imagine cutting off the EU plug and wiring the live and neutral, does an IEC work without the earth, any advice would be great!

all the best,

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work however, if you are unfamiliar with AC mains wiring of this type I must suggest taking it to someone that is qualified for such work. You are dealing with lethal voltages here and a careless mistake can kill.

hi, quick question
if I solder up one of these 9va adaptors with
the pin configuration pic you posted...
is there a certain polarity to do
IE
negative 2 pins on left etc ?

The GCX uses AC power, there is no polarity to be concerned about.
