Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum here. Getting rid of my Lin6 effects pedal board and deciding on what I should use as my rig/set up. I own a Marshall JVM410 and I am thinking about purchasing the GCP as my MIDI foot controller as well as the G-Major 2 as my effects unit. I've read some of the posts, but nothing I've read has convinced me if what I would like to do is possible.

What I want to do is be able to have amp switching (4 channels) via the GCP as well as call up any effects from the G-major 2 with one tap of GCP switch. So for example...a preset with distortion/gate/comp, then switch over to clean/comp/chorus/delay with the tap of one footswitch, etc...so effectively switch between amp channels and effects with one tap of the GCP. Is this possible with a GCP - my amp (which is MIDI) and the G-major 2?

I guess what I am trying to say is the GCP capable of doing this alone with my amp and the G-major 2?

This is exactly what Ground Control Pro presets will do. Any combination of settings on these two devices can be saved and instantly recalled via a Ground Control Pro preset. I hope that helps!

Ok great, and thanks...I just wasn't sure if needed to use the GCX to do this, since every post I read, someone was always using it. But I don't plan on using external stomp pedals, etc....not at this time anyways.

One more question, would I be able to use any passive expression pedal for volume...for example the mission pedals?

If it's passive it should work with the Ground Control Pro.
