GCP / Bias FX setup. No controller in GCP

Post by Dickie Fredericks »

Hello all,
First, I was able to get the GCP to switch presets without issue. I have that going for me. However, I cannot toggle the FX on and off because for some reason the GCP doesnt take me to the correct place to set this up.

Example:
I have a preset pulled up in 4/8 mode. I should be able to hit both set up buttons and then #6 Instant Access which should take me to 1.CH(1-16) CTL(001-128)

****(From a post on the Kemper website) - to set your Instant Access buttons for turning on stomps or effects, click both setup buttons again at the same time, release and select #6. It will read instant

access for a flash and then It will read 1.CH(1-16) CTL(001-128)****

When I do this it take me to a screen that says 1.GCX-1 Loop 1

So there is no place to change the controller.

Am I making sense? I am sure I'm missing something.

Thanks for the help!

The screen you are seeing is the correct one, it is simply telling you what the first Instant Access button is currently set to do.
Look to the Ground Control Pro manual for the MIDI Continuous Controller On/Off section under Instant Access in Setup Mode for a complete explanation, but "1.GCX-1 Loop 1" is telling you that Instant Access button #1 is currently set to talk to GCX #1 and to control Loop #1.
When you see this screen you can do the following:

-Use the Select Up / Down buttons to change which Instant Access button you want to view or edit.
-Use the Data + / - buttons to change the flashing field.
-Use the Cursor Left / Right buttons to select which field is flashing.

To change an Instant Access button from its default of controlling a GCX to instead setting a MIDI Channel and Control Change number. First, press the Data + button repeatedly when the GCX # is flashing, then press Cursor Right to get to the Control Change number field. Use the Data + / - buttons to set the Control Change number.

I hope that helps!
