I am having trouble with my control switcher taking commands from my px8+. I haven't changed any settings the only difference has been taking my set up from home to practice and back. Could it be my midi cable is not working or is there a step by step trouble shooting method to find out what's wrong? I should also note that when I go to use the option to save a setting on the control switcher by pressing 1 and 4 it does not flash like it normally should do.

If the LEDs are not flashing that would suggest that the Control Switcher is not receiving a Program Change message on the assigned MIDI Channel prior to attempting to save.

What is your exact MIDI routing? If you connect directly from the PX-8 MIDI Out to the Control Switcher MIDI In do things start to work correctly?

It is routed in that manner, no other devices in between. I haven't changed any settings so could it possibly be my MIDI cable?

It could certainly be the MIDI Cable, always worth a test with a different cable.

If it still isn't working check that the PX-8 and Control Switcher are still programmed as you want them. How are you powering the Control Switcher and PX-8?

Control switcher is being powered by the included adapter and the px8 is being powered by the pedal power 2 plus on the L6 (either channel 5 or 6)

Is there any chance you could give us a call while you are with the gear so we can troubleshoot it "live"?
