New PX4 and PX8 Pedal Switchers

Post by martin_gibson »

It's been about a year now since the announcement of a new improved, smaller PX-4, a brand new PX-8, and the Versa power supply. I still see nothing on the website.

Any word on if these projects have been scrapped, or will they ship sometime in 2010, and if so, what is the estimated date?

Also, will the pedal switchers have some basic programmability on their own (like the Carl Martin Combinator, or the Rivera branded GLAB), or would they be a basic looper on/off unless connected to the Commander.

Thanks.

They absolutely have not been scrapped. They will ship sometime in 2010.

The switchers will not have preset programming on their own but will be controllable from virtually any MIDI source.

When there are releasable details... details will be released. Keep an eye on the announcements section. I promise we will not hide them once they are available.

I'm putting together a pretty massive pedalboard and the PX8 would be PERFECT. :(

I'm working on a time machine in order to meet the 2010 release I falsely stated above... that should buy us all the time we need to get these how we want them to be ;)

The NAMM protos from Jan 2009 (?!?!?) looked good to me. I could use that right now.

All you had to do was convert it from 9Vac power to 9Vdc and make the chassis skinnier from front to back.

DONE. :D

...well that is all that appeared different on the outside, but the planned changes internally, both in hardware and software are quite different as well as planned integration with existing products and the stuff we haven't even told anyone about yet

I know it has been a long wait, even I had thought that these would have been long finished by now, but alas, they are not and I suppose I'm on the targeting radar until they are done. Nobody wants everyone to have these things on their boards more than I do ;)

Just saying, I was excited for a PX8 then and I'm still excited now.
