GCP & Boss GX-700 problem

Post by dmk »

Hi,

I've come across a strange problem with my GCP.
When sending CC data from the GCP to a Boss GX-700, via an expression pedal, i get a message on the GX-700 saying "midi buffer full".
I dont get this problem if i use an older GC (not the pro).

I recorded the midi data transmitted in cubase and found the GCP transmits more than the GC does.

I'm guessing the GCP has a higher cc "resolution" to improve accuracy?
But is there anyway to set it back to the GC rate?

I know i could just use the older GC (but i like having a proper tap tempo), or buy a newer boss rack (but i cant really afford it!).

Thanks!

There is more data across the sweep of the pedal coming out of the Ground Control Pro than there is from the original Ground Control. This is not something that can be changed, and this is the first case I have found where it affected a MIDI buffer. Unless there is some way to adjust things on the GX-700, I don't see much that can be done. If you are controlling multiple devices, try running the GX-700 at the end of the MIDI chain and do not use any MIDI Thrus. I hope that helps.
