Can you name the instant access switches instead of it saying 01. init

yes you can rename them, see in your manual! but what you will name is the presets not the instant access buttons! in the 2 modes (10 preset/bank or 4 preset/bank) you only name the presests, it's really easy!

good luck

ok, thanks for that.

just one more thing...

i have it set so you have the 8 instant access, and the bottom 4 scrolling presets.
but when you use the bank scrolling it jumps from 04. to 11.

why is this?
all the best

The two digits displayed are Bank number and Button number... 04 is Bank 0 Button 4, and 11 is Bank 1 Button 1. I hope that helps.

Hello! Newly registered user here as of July 28, 2019!

I am the proud owner of a brand new GCX and Ground Control Pro (just bought both new from Sweetwater). I'm using the GCX and GCP to switch my eight separate effects pedals on and off (my pedals are mounted in my rack). I have the GCP set for 4 presets with 8 instant access buttons. The 8 instant access buttons turn my 8 pedals on and off perfectly!

I have read the entire manual.

I know that it is possible to create a custom name for each preset. But after reading this thread, it appears that it is *NOT* possible to create a custom name for each of the 8 instant access buttons. Am I correct about that?

Thank you! :-)

Correct, you cannot name the Instant Access buttons on the display, but you can make labels to stick right on the Ground Control Pro surface.

I hope that helps!

As I recall, a few years back, there were a few companies out there making custom magnetic labels for MIDI Foot Controllers like the GCPro, MFC-101, etc. Don't know if there are any who are still active, but you might want to try searching the net...
For Sale: Original DMC GCX in Excellent Condition ($275) and a far more versatile SoundSculpture GL also in Excellent Condition ($1750). Free CONUS Shipping.
