Hi,
I have 3 current doublers en-route from you to me in the UK and I'm looking forward to their arrival I do have a dilemna however... I remember e-mailing your support before about using a current doubler cable, and the suggested when doubling current trying to use two outputs of the same amperage.
This is where it gets tricky...
I own a PP2+, and I'm looking to add either an Iso-5 or a second PP2+. Having three supplies isn't really an option at this point.
I have ready, or on the way, a few pedals which are a bit... Juice hungry. They require (ALL reverse polarity, I have 3 white ended PPREV cables and 5 more on the way from you so thats no problem!)...
200mA
200mA
240mA
300mA
300mA
So I could just tap 1+2, 3+4 for the 200mA pedals, but what about the others? If I wasn't tied to using the same amperage outputs I could use 5+7 & 6+8 for the 300mA ones, and use an output on the second supply for the 240mA pedal (Either 5&6 if I went with another PP2+, or the high current output on the ISO-5).
What I'm asking is...
Why is it suggested that you only use two outputs with the same rating? If I used two outputs of different ratings would I risk doing any damage to the pedals?
Also if I'm powering a 300mA 9V pedal using outputs 5&6, should the dipswitches remain in the normal position? I've seen you mention them being away from normal before, but perhaps they were 12V pedals anyway.
Thank you for you time. Love the pedal powers
Edit: Or should I just wait for the Digital? That'd solve my problems alright... Will I be able to by the UK 230v version directly from you in the future? Cause that'd be superb!

Do you know for certain that the current ratings you list are in fact the actual current draw ratings for the pedals you will be running?Tenebrous wrote:Why is it suggested that you only use two outputs with the same rating? It shouldn't be a problem to use two dis-similar outputs with the Current Doubler cable. There will be no harm to your pedals in doing so. If using output 5 or 6 paired with any other output on a Current Doubler cable, you should only put the DIP switches in the Normal position.
If using outputs 5 and 6 together on a Current Doubler cable, the Normal position would be for 9V use and the Away from Normal position would be for 12V use.
The Pedal Power Digital is poised for release very shortly now, and there will be units going to dealers in Europe. The first production run is nearly complete!

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
hi there, i have a effectrode tube compressor and it claims to require center positive 12v @400ma.i wonder can it be powered directly either output 5 and 6 on my pedal power +2 with the dip switch set away from normal from using one of the current doubler cable?
Any information or links that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
Howdy,
I am trying to power an Eventide Pitchfactor, a Digitech Jamman Solo and two fuzz pedals with my Pedal Power 2+
Currently I use output 5 with the DIP switch set away for the Jamman Solo as I understand it needs approximately 220 amps. Now I just found out about the current doubler adapter which excites me greatly so I can hook up my Pitchfactor to the PP2+ (after-all who doesn't hate wall-warts). But the recommended Factor setup leaves me without a place for the Jamman Solo. Is there a way to wire three outputs in parallel?

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
I have a 9volt device that requires 350ma at 9 volts.
Can I therefore use a current doubler cable with
- one of the 250ma outputs (5 or 6)
and
- one of the 100ma outputs
...to total 350ma?
I ask because I would wish to use the other 250ma output for my Ethos Overdrive...
Expert replies most appreciated...

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
I'm curious about this two - when using the current doubler cable with two dissimilar outputs, does the resulting current just equal the sum of both of the outputs' ratings?JM-1 wrote: Can I therefore use a current doubler cable with

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
I guess I missed some questions here... however I think I can hit all three with the same answer...
The Current Doubler cable will sum the current of any two outputs. On a Pedal Power 2 or Pedal Power 2+, when using output 5 or 6 together with any other output, be sure that both outputs have their corresponding DIP switches set to Normal.
I hope that helps!

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
Thanks so much for clearing that up, John!
I posted here wondering whether or not I even need one of these cables in order to run a Strymon Bluesky and Timeline off of outputs 5 and 6 on my PP2+. Any word on whether I need a current doubler cable in that scenario?

Re: Current Doubler Adapter cable (p/n PPAP)
Hello everyone!
I recently purchased a VL PP+ and I'm very happy with it!
However, i'd like to power an AKG SR40 wireless system that requires 12v DC power and 300 mA.
Will this current doubler cable solve my problem, and how ? Will I need a 5.5" adapter to fit in this green jack plug ?
Please excuse my approximative english, I'm french

The AKG SR40 can be powered from a Pedal Power 2+ using a Current Doubler cable connected to any two of outputs 1-4 with the corresponding DIP switches set away from Normal. The Red ended cable supplied with the Pedal Power 2+ will connect between the Current Doubler cable and the power jack on the receiver.
I hope that helps!
