Powering Pedal Power 2 Plus

Post by NLJoudry »

I have a Pedal Power 2 Plus. I need another one to properly power all my pedals. Can I plug the second Pedal Power into (the outlet on) the first Pedal Power without compromising the power isolation of the pedals? Will this work? Could I have ground issues or hums?

Welcome to the forum.

It is perfectly fine to plug a second PP2+ into the courtesy outlet on a PP2+.

Also, you can connect a power strip to the courtesy outlet for use with multiple pedals/effects and their adapters. It may also be used to power an additional Pedal Power 2 Plus, ISO-5, Pedal Power Digital or Pedal Power AC. The courtesy outlet is NOT designed for use with power amplifiers or other high power equipment.

heyy i wanna plug in a surge protector to my pedal power 2 plus, it says in the manual that i handles 200 watts, every surge protector i see in the store does not say how many watts it handles, but how many volts and the AC and DC amounts. i wanted to ask..would a furman ss-6b work on it? basically bc i have too many pedals.

ALSO...

i have a maxon 808 and a fulltone bassdrive. i don't completely understand the SAG function. I understand people like to run the pedals at less than 9 volts, but i was warned not to use it on certain pedals. would it be ok to run SAG on those two pedals?

Do you want to power your Pedal Power 2 Plus from a surge protector or plug a surge protector into the AC courtesy outlet on your Pedal Power 2 Plus? Either way is okay but the former is more common. If you plug a surge protector into the AC courtesy outlet, you should still use it only for effects/pedals (and not amps or similar high power devices).

You can experiment with using the SAG dial on the indicated pedals without risk of damage. If you like the results, then feel free to run them that way.

Hi Ben Reznick, thank you for this basic information.

Will it be okay, if I understand correct your informationfacts, that I use first the normal PedalPOwer 2 which I connect by powercable to the socket!
From Pedalpower 2 plus second outlet I can direct connect to perhaps a Pedal POwer ISO5???

So I have two pedalpowers but need only from cable straight to the out socket???

Thanks for a short reply if it will be okay???

Because: I have a lot of effects but don't like to overpower the PP2plus. Therefore I want to take a second pedalpower (smaller and less inserts for effects) for 3 other effects!

Yes!

The Courtesy Outlet of a Pedal Power 2+ can be used to power any other Pedal Power unit.

I hope that helps!
