I would do it as follows:

Guitar Signal -> Guitar In
Guitar Out - > Loop 1 in
Loop 1 Send -> Fuzz In
Fuzz Out -> Loop 1 Return
Loop 1 Out -> Y-Cable into JMP-1 and Triaxis (Guitar In)

and then I would continue as you suggested:
Triaxis FX Send -> Loop 2 In
Loop 2 Send: Not Used
JMP-1 FX Send -> Loop 2 Return
Loop 2 Out -> Loop 3 In
(...)

The difference is that the signal would always run into the two preamps, but it would stop at Loop 2.

I suspect you'll find there's more of a difference than that, but I can only offer suggestions, the most important of which would be to experiment and go with whatever sounds and/or works best for you.

Hi Nyteow,
Hi Voodoo Lab Forum Users!

I am following up on our conversation from last year. I continued to work on my rack and I am very happy with the current state. I have a rig diagram (work in progress) that shows my current rig: Image.

Notes / notable lessons from the last year:
- putting two preamps into my rig only worked with a Lehle P Split II to avoid a ground loop between the two amps.
- I got rid of the second power amp (as you have suggested) since two preamps are pretty useless (the 2:100 sounds absolutely fine for my purposes)
- since I am using a wireless system, the Z Vexx Fuzz Factory only works with a "guitar pickup simulator" (http://www.muzique.com/lab/pickups.htm). Using the pickup simulator also allowed me to put the fuzz into a GCX loop, so I can activate it with the right settings on my JMP 1 with a simple push on a preset button (rather than activating the pickup simulator, the fuzz AND the correct preset on the preamp); it is also notable that the pickup simulator should be deactivated if the fuzz is not in use
- the Palmer PDI 03 is a great speaker simulator - also an argument for putting the fuzz in a GXC loop
- the Strymon El Capistan is worth every Cent!
- the ISP Decimator is a nice to have since my rack is actually quite quiet without any noise gate
- the g major 2 is great for certain (not all) effects; I am only using it for modulation (chorus), filter (vibrato) and pitch effects; delay and reverb are not ideal on the g major 2 (imho); I will likely get rid of the g major 2 over time when I have replaced all effects with pedals :)
- the triaxis is a VERY loud preamp (!; in particular compared to the JMP 1) and it required quite some time to handle it. The manual is a great starting point!!
- the Blackstar 2x12 is a great cab, in particular considering the price (I was seriously considering exchanging it for a more pricy cab (e.g. a Mesa 2x12 cab), but the sound was not convincing to me)
- the Shure GLXD16 is such a great wireless system; I would buy it again at any time! Highly recommended
- the Phase 90 sounds much better with the R28 mod (http://stinkfoot.se/archives/975)

Now, that I am really happy, I am thinking of taking my rig up to the next level by (1) modifying the rig into a dry/wet rig using the two channels on the 2:100 (now I use them in parallel with a Y cable) and (2) adding a Lehle mixer to the El Capistan to have delay spillovers. I may post one or two question(s) on this next projects, but under a separate thread.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

Thanks again for helping me last year!

Best,
Thomas

First, let me compliment you on a most excellent and informative diagram. I think you should submit it to Voodoo Lab so they can add it to the list of set up suggestions on the GCX main page.

Regarding going Wet/Dry, one way to easily accomplish that would be by moving that Y-cable currently connected to the Out jack of Loop 7 to the Out jack of Loop 2 and running one side (wet) to the Loop 3 In jack and the other side (dry) to one channel of the 2:100 power amp. You'll just have to choose which side (Blackstar or Palmer) gets the wet signal and which side the dry, but a little experimenting on your part should help determine which configuration sounds best.

Many thanks for the compliment! If you think that Voodoo Lab may be interested, I am happy to send the diagram to them for further use.

Regarding your comment to the wet/dry option: I thought about this as well and will give it a try. An alternative would be to use the second outputs of the Triaxis and the JMP 1, but that would "cost" me another GCX loop...I'll let you know how things develop, if you're interested.

Thomas

As you know, I'm not affiliated with Voodoo Lab, but I truly believe your diagram would be very helpful to other GCPro/GCX users.

By all means, keep us apprised of any changes you make to your rig.
