What is current draw of GCX switcher

Post by carstenlange »

Using a pedal Power AC to power two GCX audio switches. I am using the 600 mA for one GCX, and then 1200mA for the one that phantom powers ground control.

Can I use a 600mA output to power the GCX and ground control instead?

600mA would not be enough to reliably power both the GCX and Ground Control Pro. They each draw up to about 400mA when powered from a 9VAC source.

Good Luck!

Hi, sorry to resurrect an old thread but, since there are two 1200ma outputs on a Pedal Power AC, would i be able to reliably use one for each GCX/GCP rig? (i see the GCX PS sends 1A)

I have two GCX rigs.
each will utilize the footswitch only some of the time.
would it be safe&reliable to run the GCX's from the 1200ma ports, without the GCP's connected?

thanks

A GCX by itself can be powered from any of the 9V outputs on a Pedal Power AC. When the GCX is also powering a controller it needs be on the high current 9V output so there is enough "juice" for everything.
