Connecting Polytune2 tuner

Post by pfloyd »

I use the voodoo Lab GC and the GCX in combination with a few stompboxes. The stompboxes are placed in my rack. My Boss FV-500H volumepedal is connected to the pedal 1 input of the Ground Controller.

I want my tuner (Polytune 2) in front of me in the pedalboard between the GC and my volumepedal. I can’t use the "tuner out" from the volumepedal because with this connection there is no guitarsignal thrue it. How can I connect the Polytune so that it works and I can place it in front of me on the board. Maybe it’s simple but I can’t figure it out.

Thanks Peter

What I would suggest you do is shift everything in your GCX over one loop to open up Loop 1, moving whatever is currently in Loop 1 to Loop 2, whatever is in Loop 2 to Loop 3, and so on, but do not change your guitar feed to the Loop 1 In jack or the Loop 1 Out to Loop 2 In connection.

Then run a single cable from the Loop 1 Send to the In jack of the PolyTune on your board. Do NOT run a cable from the PolyTune Out back to the Loop 1 Return. Now, by activating Loop 1, you will redirect your guitar signal solely to the tuner without it passing thru any other GCX loops, thus giving you silent tuning.
