Pedal Switcher Dimensions?

Post by Hans »

I have two pedal switchers that should be arriving tomorrow and I am trying to prep my pedal board. What are the dimensions of the pedal switcher? and if I may be so bold... what are the Dimensions of the new double sized Pedal switcher coming out towards the end of the year?

Thanks! :D

Hi Hans,

Nice talking to you on the phone today. The Pedal Switcher is 11.8" (300mm) wide x 3.0" (76mm) deep x 1.5" (38mm) tall. The new PX8 Pedal Switcher with 8 loops will be 21.5" (546mm) wide x 2.5" (64mm) deep x 1.5" (38mm) tall. Note that the height is for the chassis only and does not include the switch actuator.

Any other questions, please let me know!

Hello,
I'm about the "pull the trigger" on a couple Pedal Switchers. My hesitation is because I learned of the new Pedal Switcher, and want to see what it has to offer.

After reading Mr Fiden's response to Hans post - it seems that I will go ahead and buy the two PS'rs vs waiting for the new one.

My thinking is (and please correct me if I am wrong) is that the only advantage to going with the new PS is that youre getting 8 patches without having to chain the two together with a patch cord. It is also physically smaller allowing more room in the pedal board.

I'm still going with the 2 PS's...NOW...make a PS with 5 patches on each....and I'll be the first in line! ;)

PX-8 is in fact much like having two pedal switchers in one box. It's footprint will be smaller than using two Pedal Switchers. 5 Switches per switcher... that would be odd! ;)

5 IS an odd number - very good!

I think that 5 loops per switcher is better than 4 (for me anyway).

With the PX8 - are all 8 loops buffered/non buffered...or can you still have 4 buffered/4 non buffered with the PX8 :?:

Thanks

The buffer/non-buffer choice is made at the beginning of the signal path and will affect all loops, however there is an Insert between loops 6 and 7. You could add anything to the signal path here including the buffer of your choice. I hope that helps!

John,
Thank you for clarifying that for me - it does help!

Now to wait for Christmas....Santa (my lovely wife) is getting me a couple Voodoo switchers!! :D

If you dont mind...could you knock on the cubical next to yours and kindly ask Mr Santiago what patch cables he used in the Voodoo videos where he explains the ins and outs of the Pedal Switchers? :P

Thanks Again!

Dan

Cubical!?! What sort of business do you think we are running here? ;)

I believe the cables you see are George L's cable.
