Got a analog chorus off of EvilBay a few weeks ago and i'm loving this thing more than my Diamond. Simplicity of two knobs and easily dialed in usable tones.
Problem, i'm getting about 2-3 days out of a battery. I'm talking plug it in when i get home from work and play with it off and on 3-4 hours before bed. Is this normal? I unhook it when i'm done. Unfortunately, out my box of power supplies (pedal power 2 included) nothing fits what i assume to be the power supply jack. There's something there anyway that is wired to the pedal guts. The opening is too small for 2.1mm barrel.
Am i getting the bonehead of the year award here for missing the obvious or are these not comaptible with external PS and eat batteries like my uncle at the Sizzler buffet?
Analog chorus power supply?

Popular place.
Is there anybody out there.

Anyone at all.
Re: Analog chorus power supply?
You have one of the original Voodoo Lab pedals there. Nice score on a 15-20 year old pedal!
The power jack is a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini plug. It looks like a guitar cable plug, but half the size. The pedal takes 9VDC and the Tip is positive. The Pedal Power would have originally included one of these cables... give us a call if you need a new one.
I don't necessarily see your experience with battery life as being signs of trouble. This pedal will draw about 30mA which should put it in the neighborhood of up to about 24 hours of use on a 9V battery. An Alkaline battery should last the longest.
Good Luck!

Re: Analog chorus power supply?
Thanks for the reply John. Much appreciated.
I couldn't find the plug with my VL power supply to fit it. I should just call and ask for a power supply for a version 1 chorus?
I'll give a ring tomorrow. Thanks again.

Re: Analog chorus power supply?
The Mini Plug Cable is the correct one for the older Voodoo Lab pedals that do not have an LED.
Good Luck!

and the LED version, I hope.
Re: Analog chorus power supply?
Heh! Would you look at that... I didn't even notice!craig4fsu wrote:and the LED version, I hope.
That pedal you have has been modified to add an LED. It started life without an LED and would be of the "non LED" group still It definitely has the original 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini Plug jack, and the original purple background color.
I'd bet that someone simply swapped out the original DPDT switch with a 3PDT switch and added the LED and a resistor on the extra pins.
