I am not able to get the phantom power form the GCX to power the GCP. The GCP powers on it's own voltage and the GCX shows active. I have the GCP setup for the GCX to be on also.
I am either missing something or the GCX is not working right.
The GCX powers up as expected with the flashing lights and all. It does not show active until the GCP is powered.
I have the through from the midi going to my GM2 and all patches and switches function as expected so I know the midi cable is good. It is a 5-pin cable.
What else should I check?

You know the cable from your GCX MIDI Thru to your GM2 MIDI In is good, but what about the cable running from your GCPro MIDI Out to your GCX Pedal In?

It looks to be the midi cable from the GCP to the GCX. Even though it carries the midi as expected, it would not carry the voltage. I got another midi cable and it is working for now.

that different midi cable does not power the GCP now from the GCX. I am seeing a very faint lighting of the GCP and when I unplug the cable, it goes away. I wonder if the GCX is going south. Very frustrating.

Be sure that the cables have all five pins connected. Also (especially if you aquired the GCP used) be sure that the DIN Jack on the GCP is clean. (Power it down and give it a blast of contact cleaner.)

the 7 pin on the GCP got me. I have now marked the correct orientation of the cable to the GCP and it is working. Good thing I didn't scrap the other midi cable. All good now. Lesson learned and hopefully someone can learn from my mistakes.
