After being a pedal guy for more than 20 years I am now looking at a rack setup which takes me into the midi world which I know very little about.
I have kept some of my pedals and recently purchased a G-Major and am interested in a GCX / GCP setup to control everything (amp channel switching, and also the pedals) but I am just not sure where/how the G-major comes into play in all this.
Here’s is what I would like to achieve (4 presets / bank)
Preset 1 > Amp Channel 1 + G-Major effects on/off
Preset 2 > Amp Channel 3 + GCX loops + G-Major effects on/off
Preset 3 > Amp Channel 3 + GCX loops + G-Major effects on/off
Preset 4 > Amp Channel 2 + GCX loops + G-Major effects on/off
(G-major is in the fx-loop of the amp)
Is something like this even possible? Do I just program the effects on/off to buttons not already used by the loops eg, preset 2 has loops 1, 2, 3 & 7 on so therefore I can only use instant access buttons 4, 5, 6 etc for the effects on/off or can I say have loop 6 turn on AND program button 6 to turn the delay on/off?
lol Maybe I should've kept my pedals as I feel i'm getting in over head
Any help is greatly appreciated
GCX/GCP + G-Major
Re: GCX/GCP + G-Major
The eight Instant Access buttons can be programmed to control GCX loops or individual effects on the G-Major. You do not have to limit yourself to only four G-Major effects unless you want to keep the four loops you are currently using as Instant Access buttons.
Also, you can have your Ground Control Pro preset recall a patch on the G-Major that loads the effects you want while also setting the amp channel and combination of GCX loops.

So can I have a preset that turns on whatever GCX loops I need without having IA buttons assigned to them?.JohnClark wrote:You do not have to limit yourself to only four G-Major effects unless you want to keep the four loops you are currently using as Instant Access buttons.
The pedals i'll have in the loops I want to always be on when I switch to that particular preset so i'm not concerned about being able to turn them on/off. eg. when in preset 2 (dirty channel) I want the OD pedal in the loop on at all times.
Re: GCX/GCP + G-Major
This is precisely what Ground Control Pro presets do. Any combination of GCX loops on up to four GCX switchers can be recalled instantaneously while also recalling virtually any patch on up to eight different effect processors via Ground Control Pro presets. The eight Instant Access buttons can be assigned to any eight effects you need spontaneous switching capabilities for on any of the GCX loops or effects within a processor. Look to the Edit Preset section of the Ground Control Pro manual for detail on how to write your presets. I hope that helps!
