Hey all,
I'm currently without a functioning preamp and it looks like it could be that way for a while, so i'm going back to the trusty old metal zone into Peavey Rage 158!
The Peavey amplifier has no FX loop. It's manual says this of the Headphone Output:
Load Impedance: 4 ohms or greater.
Nominal Power Output: 20 mW into 4 ohms
(Stereo jack, monaural signal, disconnects internal speaker when phone plug is inserted)
I still want to use some of my line level delay and harmony FX with my System Mix Plus and DI into my home pc for recording, so can i run a Y-cable from the Peavey headphones out into the left and right inputs on my System Mix Plus?
System Mix Plus Input Impedance:
Left and Right channels 44kΩ
Left only, used as mono input 22kΩ
Maximum Input Level 7 V RMS or +19dBu
Maximum Voltage Gain +6 dBu
Output Drive 7 V RMS across 5kΩ
I'm still learning all the ins and outs about ohms and impedance and stuff, so today i just figure i should ask for help LOL
Thanks guys, take it easy
Dawesy.

Re: using headphone out into System Mix Plus
While not totally "right", I see no reason this should not work to use the headphone out to drive the System Mix Plus and your effects. You will want to use an Insert cable rather than a Y cable. An "Insert Cable" has a TRS end that breaks out to two TS ends that maintain the discrete stereo channels. A "Y Cable" has TS connectors on all three ends and is used to split a single output to two inputs.
