Virtually all Mesa amplifiers use the same design for the external switching scenario, and the Road King (all versions) is no exception. If your Mesa amp has individual jacks labeled with single functions then you can rest assured that each function can be controlled using the Out/N.O. jack of a GCX loop set to Latching with a Mono cable. Mesa recommends using a Speaker Cable (or any side by side pair cable) for the external switching functions as the capacitance of an Instrument Cable (or any coaxial cable) can in some cases cause popping. There should be no other cable connected to any GCX loop used for amplifier function switching.
