Hello!
I'm trying to connect the PC8+ with morningstarfx MC8 to change presets on PX8+. The px8 is set to loopstrip mode. Both units are set to midi channel 1.
I tryed the midi type settings: enable CC and both CC and PC. The CC group is set to 80-87. But no response from the PX8.
I go from MC8 midi out (5-pin midicable) --> PX8 midi in.
When powering on everything is connected (The usb to mc8 editor is unconnected).
The PX8 is set to loopstrip mode (but actually looks like its in preset mode - the bank nr 1 is lit and IA green light is lit, and the loop nr 1 red light is on).
I've attached the screenshot with MC8 editor settings.
Thanks for any help!
Paul

Re: PX8+ & MC8
Hi there,
I haven’t played with a Morningstar before but midi in general has to have different midi channels for everything to work, if you were using a GC Pro, I’d say the controller doesn’t need a channel. With your Morningstar it may. So I’d say set the Morningstar to Channel 1 and the PX8+ to channel 2.
How have you got your midi cables run? You don’t have a send and return from both do you?
See if this does anything.

GCPro, GCX, Pedal Power 2+, Pedal Power AC.

Thanks marlboro05
Tried as you suggested. no luck. also got an answer from morningstar support. Did as they suggested. On mc8 side everything is working (midimonitor). The px8 just goes crazy with random lights. I wrote to vdl support, am waiting for reply.

Re: PX8+ & MC8
Hi there,
I’d probably do a reset on the PX8, then set it to channel 2, if that channel isn’t used by anything else, each device needs its own channel.
Then set the PX8 to loop mode, then set it to take PC and CC messages.
You need to send a message to every loop to state it being on or off.
So CC #80 0 ON, CC #81 0 ON, CC #82 0 ON, CC #83 127 OFF, CC #84 127 OFF, etc, etc.
I ask about the midi cable setup to, do you have it going back to the controller after your last device, as in a full circle? You only daisy change to the last device. I see you have written you only have a cable from the controller to the PX8, just making sure.
Wish I could play with one to see what was going on, then I’d be able to help more.
Cheers

Hey,
PX8+ now works with the MC8.
Just that the control values are the opposite. Value 0 - the loop is off. Value 127 the loop is on.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Marlboro05!
greetings from Tallinn,
Paul
