Sorry about the Necro thread, but I have a relevant question.

If I hook up the split cable, for daisy chaining two pedals from one output, but only actually put one pedal in (leaving the second split unconnected), is this is anyway 'worse' than using a regular cable?

I'm thinking about using a split cable to power one pedal, with the other output just floating, for those times when I might need to hook up another pedal for a bit.

That can work fine and without causing any problems, but... if only one pedal is connected, it will only work if the one pedal is connected to the all-black lead (not the lead with the white stripe, which is ground lifted and will not function unless both pedals are connected).

Cheers!
