Digitech Jamman Solo XT with original Pedal Power 2

Post by smd1973 »

I’ve searched this forum and seen questions about powering a Digitech Jamman Solo XT with various Pedal Power products but I have not seen anything about powering it with an original Pedal Power 2.

When I plug one of the standard black barrel connectors into my Jamman the orangish/yellow light On the Jamman comes on but it does not “boot up”. I’ve tried it with the PP2 dip switch in both positions. Any advice here from those with more knowledge than me? Thank you!!

The reason is insufficient current.

The Jamman Solo XT (9VDC model) requires 9VDC and high current (about 200mA) but your older Pedal Power 2 (not 2 Plus) has only standard current (100mA) capacity 9V outputs.

To power the Jamman Solo XT (9VDC model) with the older Pedal Power 2, use a Current Doubler Adapter, part# PPAP in two 9VDC outputs and with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

I think I'm going to have to upgrade my pedal power to a newer model as I need a few more power outputs. I have an older pedal train pedalboard that fits the Pedal Power 2 in it perfectly. Are the pedal power 3+ or 4 the same sized chassis as the old pedal power 2?

Yes, Pedal Power 3 and Pedal Power 3 Plus can mount with the same brackets that work for your older Pedal Power 2 or 2 Plus.
