Hi all
A bit of advice required for a non technical person.
I've been using the voodoo lab pedal power 2 for approx 10 years. Now I am updating my pedal board and wondering how best to power it.
Currently outputs are powering as follows (all switches in normal):
1) Morley mini Volume
2) Boss CH-1 Super Chorus
3) TC Electronics PolyTune Mini
4) Bright Onion ABY Dual Looper
5) Strymon Bluesky
6) Strymon El Capistan
7) EHX 720 Looper
8) MXR Smart Gate
Rear power outlet) Digitech Whammy
I am looking to add a EHX Superego or Freeze to my board but wondering how to do it. Is it possible to split the cable and power the 2 strymons from output 5 successfully freeing up outlet 6 for the Superego?
And help appreciated.
Help with fitting EHX Superego
Re: Help with * EHX Superego
Unfortunately not, as it's pretty maxed-out already.
The Strymon pedals (Bluesky and El Capistan) each need a 9V high current output and thus require the using both outputs 5 and 6. Also, if you are powering these, I suspect you must be using Pedal Power 2 Plus (not the older Pedal Power 2).
The Superego (or Freeze) requires about 140mA and could be powered using a Current Doubler Adapter, part# PPAP in two standard 9V outputs (1,2,3,4,7 or 8) with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables. But that would (obviously) require removing two of the other pedals.
I recommend upgrading to a larger supply (perhaps Pedal Power MONDO) or maybe adding a second supply (perhaps Pedal Power X4).
Hope this helps!

Re: Help with * EHX Superego
Hi
For some reason only just seen this reply.
Yes it is the pedal power 2 plus that I own.
I have decided to put a power strip through the rear aux IEC socket (currently have a single out of there powering the Digitech whammy).
I believe I should be ok using a 4gang/power strip and powering both the digitech whammy and Superego through that way?
Thanks
