GCX + HX Effects 4-cable method

Post by anthsband »

I am having issues setting up my new Line 6 HX Effects into my GCX with the 4 cable method. I found a couple posts on here discussing it but no matter which way I try to hook it up I always have the issue of hearing the effects come through in the signal even when the loop is not engaged.

The post that made the most sense to me was someone asking how to set up the L6 POD and said to hook it up as shown below so I gave that a shot a few times, but again I still hear the effects when the loop is not engaged. Also when I have it hooked up like this my amp volume goes in and out randomly.

Guitar to GCX Front Panel Guitar In
GCX Rear Panel Guitar out to Loop 1 In
Cable 1: Loop 1 Send to Pod In
Cable 2: Pod Send to Loop 1 Return
Cable 3: Amp Send to Pod Return
Cable 4: Pod Output to Amp Return
Loop 1 Out to Amp In.

Can anyone give me some tips? Thank you!

Hi there,

I think you’ll have more luck with the amp Snd and Rec in a second loop. Turn on loop 1 for distortion, compression etc. Turn loop 2 on for reverb, delay etc. turn both on for both, turn both off for just amp.

Either that or create patches with effects turned off.

Hope this helps
