Footswitch cable from amp to GCX

Post by axeman8 »

I am having difficulties finding a cable to go from my GCX to my new Madison Prophecy amp for channel / effects switching. I have gone to Jerry at FJA Mods and he couldn't help me, either. The Prophecy has a 3-button footswitch and 2 cables to the amp. One button is for the clean/crunch channel switching, one button is for the gain setting once the crunch channel is kicked in, and the third button is to toggle the onboard effects on/off. Do I need a special cable or is there a way to hook this up to the GCX with regular cables? I had a XXX with the special cable, so I know it was split between two GCX channels, but what do I do now? I tried using 2 regular 1/4" cables from the amp to the GCX, but I don't have the option to select between the dirty and high gain channels. It only goes from clean to high gain.

Likely what you need in an Insert Cable for the dual function jack and a regular mono cable for the effects bypass jack. This will require a total of three GCX loops to have full control. I assume these are 1/4" jacks on the amp and that one is for the channels and the other is for the effects?

That is a correct assumption, John. 1/4" jacks and one for effects on/off, one for channel clean/dirty/gain.

Looks like I need to pick up another GCX as I only had room for 2. Lucky me!

Thanks for the help!
