I'm finally switching from pedals-duct-taped-to-stage to a pedalboard with VL Switchers & Commander.
Where in the chain should I run my Boss TU-3 tuner pedal?
Is there any advantage to running the tuner into one of the Switchers? Seems like I'd want to preserve my Switcher loops for actual effects.
Is there any disadvantage to running the tuner pedal outside of the Switcher/Commander loops?
Thanks.
Boss Tuner & Pedalboard w/ Switchers & Commander?
Re: Boss Tuner & Pedalboard w/ Switchers & Commander?
You can route the tuner before the first switcher or put it in the first loop of the first switcher so it will not affect your signal when not in use. Really it can go anywhere you want but we usually try to run a tuner before any effects to avoid any mishaps. Who here has ever tried to tune a guitar that had a stealth chorus routed before the tuner... absolutely maddening!

I always run it first; however, I wasn't sure if I should save the Switcher loop for something else. Do the new Boss Tuners affect the tone enough to warrant a VL loop? Otherwise, I'd just run it before the first switcher: Guitar>Tuner>First Switcher>etc.>Amp.JohnClark wrote:You can route the tuner before the first switcher or put it in the first loop of the first switcher so it will not affect your signal when not in use.
