Changing Tubes on the Voodoo Lab Preamp
Changing tubes is easy enough but I was curious about the relationship between v1-v4 and the channels on the preamp. If I like the clean channel but wanted hotter tubes on the lead channel, which valve or valves should I change? Any suggestions on brand or type? Can other Similar tube types be substituted. Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: Changing Tubes on the Voodoo Lab Preamp
V1 and V4 are the input and output stages as well as the Clean Channel. V2 and V3 together are both of the drive channels. The Guitar Preamp was designed around using the Sovtek 12AX7WB in all four positions, so if yours already has something else in it you may want to start off with stock tubes. The drive channels should be blistering with these tubes! All the common 12A_7 type tubes can be used in any of the positions. Good luck!
