Question: GCPro Device Start Number

Post by scoesh »

I'm a little confused about how the GCPro handles device start numbers
I've read the manual and understand the MIDI concepts. What I am confused about is how the function is displayed in the GCPRO.

Am I correct in saying that:
Start at 00 = keep the standard convention of the program change range of 01-128
Start at 01 = increment program changes by one so that they no longer start at 0, but 1, and therefore achieve a program change range of 01-128

Any clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks. Scoesh

The device start number refers to what number your MIDI device starts at. MIDI Program Changes start at 00 but not all MIDI devices display this way. Selecting "Starts at 01" offsets the displayed Program Change within the Ground Control Pro by 1 so it matches the displayed patch number on your MIDI device. I hope that helps!
