Can GCP Send MIDI Notes with External Pedals?

I got an Elation Cyber Pak Light Dimmer unit that can be controlled by MIDI as well as DMX. Since I have a GCP, MIDI would be the easiest method. I plan on using external foot switches connected to the GCP for some simple control. The only thing is the dimmer pack only responds to midi notes not CCs, is there a way to control it with the GCP? I'm just starting to get my head around midi so excuse me if i get things totally messed up lol. Thanks guys.

If the external pedals you are referring to are able to send Note On/Off messages then, yes you can send those messages thru the Ground Control Pro and out to the rest of the rig. The Ground Control Pro itself does not generate Note On/Off messages.

They are 2 Mission Engineering Latching Pedals. Do those transmit notes? I'm not even sure what info they even send, but I assume they don't.

Oh I see what you are getting at now...

Pedals connected to the Expression Pedal ports on the Ground Control Pro will generate Control Change messages. The Event Processor from MIDI Solutions can convert the Control Change messages generated by the Expression Pedal ports to Note On/Off messages.
