switching 3 or 4 amps among 3 or 4 speaker cabinets

Post by guitar.player »

Does anyone know of a switchbox that will allow me to blend, mix or match several amps with several speaker cabinets?

If you go to a large stereo store, their listening room will have racks of amps and racks of speakers. To mix and match, you would just press buttons to do the switching. Where can I find a switchbox like that for guitar amps and cabs?

The only unit I've seen that works well is the Headbone by Radial. I know a few of our artists that use them live to switch two heads into a single mic'd cabinet.

Just to be clear, switching heads can be very tricky. If you send your guitar signal into a head that doesn't have a proper speaker load on it, you could do some real damage to your amp.
