Hello!
Having some trouble with seting up my GCP with the G-major and the Nova Drive.
I have selected the “4 Presets/Bank” option, and wondered if it was possible to control the different G-major channels with the Instant Access buttons and the Nova Drive with the lower 4 gray highlighted buttons on the GCP?
In that way I can put an overdrive or a distortion from the ND on the G-major effects or vice versa if thats better.
Thanks for all answers

"Patches" (or "channels" as they're also commonly referred to) are selected via MIDI Program Change messages. When in 4 Preset/Bank mode the Instant Access buttons 1-8 send "Control Change" messages.zolpetre wrote:Hello!

CC messages control 1 thing while Program Change messages switch "patches", which control several things at once. CC messages cannot change patches on MIDI gear. This means that in the 4 Preset/Bank mode, buttons 1-4 bottom row are the only buttons that will switch patches on both units.
You can, however, use the Instant Access buttons to bypass individual effects within a G Major patch as well as CC switchable functions within the Nova Drive, which can be found under "MIDI Controllable Parameters" in the "Miscellaneous" section of the Nova Drive manual. The "Miscellaneous" section of the Nova Drive manual talks about implementing the Nova Drive into a MIDI setup.
In order to gain individual control of each device, each device must be assigned to a different MIDI channel. Then in the Ground Control Pro setup menu under "Device Name/Channel", you would name each device as well as tell the GCP which MIDI channel each device is assigned to. This will make the name of each device pop up in the "Preset Edit" menu along with the patch number it will call up when each preset on the GCP is called up.

Okey, so I can't select a channel on the G-major and then adding ND afterwords with another button on the GCP? I have to preset the channels individually with or without ND activation?

Program Changes change "presets" on MIDI gear(also known as "patches"). In 4 Preset/Bank mode, bottom row buttons 1-4 perform the function of sending Program Changes to the gear for changing gear presets.
Control Changes "control" individual functions within a given gear preset (i.e. bypassing individual effects). In 4 Preset/Bank mode on the Ground Control Pro, the Instant Access buttons 1-8 perform this function.
This means that the bottom row buttons 1-4 will switch patches on both the G Major and the ND individually. You can set up the Ground Control Pro presets in a way that will either change a preset on the ND only, on the G Major only, or on both the G Major and the ND simultaneously, and you can set it up so that one Ground Control Preset calls up a patch number on the G Major that is different from the patch number that it calls up on the ND and vice versa.
The Instant Access buttons on the Ground Control Pro can be programmed to bypass/unbypass individual effects within a given patch on both the G Major 2 and the ND.
Let's say that on a given G Major 2 patch that you want to just turn the delay off or on. You can assign an Instant Access button that will allow you to bypass or unbypass the delay.
You can also assign one as a tap tempo to set your delay time on the fly as well. Instant Access buttons can also be assigned to bypass either the ND and/or the G Major 2. This means that you can program a preset that has just the G Major 2 active, then another preset that has just the ND active, and then a 3rd preset where both are active. You can also bypass them on the fly with the Instant Access buttons as well.

You shoud be able to setup an instant access button to toggle OD and another for DIST on the ND that way you can add or subtract HD as required.
