Help saving patches

Post by U2guitarman »

How do I save actual patches from my sanamp psa-1 with my GCP. I have a midi going from the sansamp to the gcx, but I only know how to switch the unit on and off with the GCP, I want to save my preset 1 on the sanamp as a patch to pull up on the pro. Hope that makes sense.

The numbered patches in the PSA-1 are recalled when it receives MIDI Program Changes. Creating Ground Control Pro presets that recall the PSA-1 patches is done by entering the Edit mode and assigning the appropriate MIDI Program Change that matches the PSA-1 patch that you want to recall.
The Assigning MIDI Program Changes section in the Ground Control Pro manual under Edit Preset should help to get you up and running.

Let us know if you run into any troubles!

Thanks John! Can you only do one midi program per GCX/GCP? I have 3 rack mounts that have midi capabilities, the PSA-1, Korg SDD-2000, and TC G-Major

The Ground Control Pro can control up to eight MIDI devices, plus up to four GCX switchers. Each MIDI device is named in the Device Name/Channel list and assigned a unique MIDI channel. This allows you to send up to eight MIDI Program Changes, each on its own channel, so you can avoid having to map all your patches on multiple devices.

I hope that helps!

The MIDI path is simply a series connection where you run the output of the first device to the input of the second device, then the output of the second device to the input of the third device... on down the line until you run out of devices to connect. Good luck!
