Amp switching

Post by Neil C »

I am trying to work out whether my amp can be controlled via my GCX and GCP. I use a Matamp 1224 GT (the most amazing amp, check out www.matamp.co.uk). The amp is a single channel with master volume and has 2 foot switches which to the follwowing:

FOOTSWITCH 1:
-Changes between low and high inputs for a boost,
-Switches between EQ's (the amp has like a Variac switch on it).

FOOTSWITCH 2
-Turns the second drive stage on
-Defeats the master volume (only when 2nd drive stage is in).

Each footswitch uses just one lead out the the amp. I don't understand how I can get both funstions from the switch to work when obviously it'll only go into one input in the GCX. Is it possible? I don't use all of the switches much - mainly thq EQ boost and the Master volume on off (so one of the functions from each pedal).

Any help on how to do it or whether it's possible would be great. Thanks in advance,

Neil

Thanks for the help - they all look good but what I'm hoping is that I can plug a pedal into the GCX and control that via the GCP. The footswitches for each function obviously just have 1/4" jack out but it must be split into 2 signals some how to control the 2 actions of each pedal.
Thanks again though - if VL can't suss something out I'll probably go with the Voodoo Lab option that you've suggested.

The amp likely has two TRS jacks for the two foot switch jacks. If that is the case you will want to use two insert cables to control all the functions. Controlling all the functions will require 4 loops of the GCX or a Control Switcher.
