Another ROUTING help ---- MESA 2:90 - Triaxis - JMP-1

Post by cudarea »

Ok -- this can get confusing fast for sure (for me anyways)

I am putting a bunch of pieces together -- here is the list:

-Mesa 2:90
-Mesa Triaxis
-Marshall JMP-1 (I don't have to have 2 pre-amps but I know I should be able to switch between them - right?)
-Furman Power
-G-Major
-DBX 266xl Comp
-BBE
-Yamaha SPX90

on a rack shelf:
-Ibanez TS-9
-MXR Phase 90
-Boss CE-2

-GCX
-Ground Control Pro

I would really like a diagram (if someone has time and is willing to share) -- or a simple reply would be great -- thanks --

All this stuff is really overkill for me -- but fun to piece together :D .

I can run this thru 1 or 2 Marshall 412 cabs -- I am thinking of this in stereo. I really want to run it with a couple of Mesa 212 cabs (don't have them yet -- but that is what I will eventually go to if it matters for this setup)

Sorry for the long one -- see below -- got the GCP and the GCX so everything changes (going into the empty rack)

This is not much different than one of the rig diagrams from the GCX page...

http://www.voodoolab.com/gcxdiagrams/04 ... werAmp.pdf

In this example GCX Loop 1 is switching between two preamps and GCX Loops 3 & 7 and 4 & 8 are switching two effects processors in stereo. If you want to run pedals in front of the preamps you would simply route the guitar signal to those loops first and split the Out from the last front end loop to drive the inputs of your two preamps.

I hope this helps!

Ok -- another problem ---

I threw out the JMP-1 ---- so I'm not using 2 pre-amps

the SPX90 has mono in and stereo out -- (see diagram) -- I got to the SPX90 but because of the mono in and stereo out -- I'm stuck --

How should I come out of the SPX90?

any other suggestions?

If you want to switch the SPX90 with the stereo output you will need to use two GCX loops like the drawing I linked earlier. The only difference would be that you simply would not use the Send from one of the GCX loops since there is only a single input.

I hope that helps!

Ok John -- I think I got that -- but I need to free up a loop --

I can put the TS-9 on my pedalboard and run that before the "guitar in" ---- that will give me a needed loop for the SPX90 in stereo (or??) --

Question --- the Triaxis has A and B outputs ---- I am only using 1 of the outputs -- right?

If you are not using the effects loop on the Triaxis, then you can use the two outputs to connect to the In jacks of the two GCX loops that switch the SPX90. The Out jacks of the two GCX loops that switch the G-Major will connect the the Ins of the 2:90.

If you are using the effects loop on the Triaxis then you will need to connect the Effect Send to the In jacks of the two GCX loops that switch the SPX90 using a Y cable. The Out jacks of the two GCX loops that switch the G-Major will connect the the Effect Return Jacks on the Triaxis. The Outs of the Triaxis would connect to the Ins on the 2:90.

Good Luck!
