PP2+ w/ Cry Baby Rack Wah?

Post by TheEnemyWithin »

Howdy all,

I'm trying to get rid of all but one of the AC adapters in my rack (the remaining one will be for my GCX). The other units that use adapters are a Cry Baby DCR-2SR rack wah and three pedals, one of which is an MXR Flanger.

Two of the pedals use 9V each (Boss PSA), the flanger needs 18V, and the Cry Baby needs 24V (and draws 100ma).

If I were to use a PP2+, the two Boss pedals would use one 9V outlet each, the flanger would use two of the 9V outlets with a PPY cable, and I assume the rack wah can use two other outlets set to 12V each, also with a PPY (the wah's power input is outer barrel positive, so the PPY cable should work fine).

My two questions are, considering the other units that need power, which two outlets should I set aside for 24V, and has anyone used the PP2+ for a Cry Baby rack wah?

(edit: mistakenly listed the rack wah's power input as outer barrel negative)

The 1st four outputs can be switched tot Boss ACA mode (12.3V DC) by setting the switch to ON.

But it won't help you. The DCR-S2R rack wah employs an AC wallwart, not a DC!

Oh snap, you're right! I mentioned keeping the GCX wallwart because I knew it was AC, but didn't think to look at the 2SR one. Thanks for the heads up!

Well, I'm still getting the PP2+ for my pedals.
