I believe I'll be running the Ground Control with an RJM RG16 switcher so I can control amp channel changes and fx changes. 99% sure the GCX won't control the midi on the m9 and do the amp changes. I could be wrong.
you can do some amp switching functions with the GCX. but it chews up GCX loops.

I recently purchased an RG16. That is what I am running now. I control 2 amps ( Orange and a Splawn) and their swtiching functions plus before amp pedals (going to both amps via midi controlled A/B/Y) and then modulation / Special FX into ONE amp's FX loop. That gives me a nice wet dry mix out front.
I still have the GCX in my rack as a back up or maybe someday I will use it to add more loops.

Here is a crappy pic when i was wiring it all up.

Almost completed. All the banks are programmed. Now I'm just trying to get the M9 all programmed. Here is the schematic and a pic of the rig. The 4x12 will soon be a 2x12.

I will post a few questions that you guys may be able to answer in regards to the M9.

Looks good!
Heck stack the 2*12 on top of the 4*12!

Definitely a consideration but at this point I'm trying to make my rig as easy to transport and set up as possible. The head will be on top of the 2x12 and they will be placed inside a 4x12 road case so all that I have to do is lift the top off.

Here is my question. I programmed each bank and on select songs the M9 is in the mix with delays thru my amps loop. Here is my question or maybe it's not a question. Each of my delays is set to BPM so they are each in their own scene on the M9. Does it matter whether the M9 is in latch or momentary mode. According to Line 6 it shouldn't matter but it doesn't seem to read correctly in momentary. So I've left it in latch. So when I turn on my rack I have to go to the M9 and press both buttons that turn on the scene mode. Does this sound correct. Or does it just sound confusing? Haha. So far I am using your "just use this hammer" method for the most part. After I get the folder/patch to change then I go to the M9 and program it. Maybe I'm just over thinking this but the rest of the rig was so easy to figure out.

A side note: The reason it took me so long to get it up and running was because the first RJM started smoking (literally) when I first got it. Come to find out it was because a company which shall remain nameless made me a 30' midi cable w/ phantom and did not heat shrink any of the connections. So the cable was shorting and it fried the damn board on the RG16. RJM was cool enough to let me send it back to them and they replaced the whole board. Great company. As for my Ground Control Pro. It works like a champ.

understand about keeping everything compact. but that went out the window for me the moment i said F*** it im gonna carry a rack case with pedals in it.

so if i gotta lug that around then the 4x12s are comin too!

Re m9
i've never bothered with selecting scene or latch. so i honestly don't know what it's set for. all my gear is at rehearsal space or i would go check it.
what do you mean the m9 isn't reading correctly in momentary?
