GCP and MIDI in

Post by half_stack »

Can anyone tell me if MIDI messages arriving at the MIDI in-port of the GCP are echoed at the MIDI out-port?

I haven't seen anything in the manual but I may have missed something.

Thanks

Brian

Ground Control Pro v1.10 and higher will mirror any incoming MIDI messages unless they are specifically intended to control the Ground Control Pro. I hope that helps!

Thanks for getting back. I believe that answers my question.

I had been thinking I could connect a sequencer to the GCP's MIDI input to call up presets automatically. But also if the MIDI system timing messages are passed along to the other connected downstream effects such as delays that can be set to be tempo dependent.

Thanks again John

Oops! I spoke to quickly! MIDI time code, or other such timing protocols, do not in fact pass through smoothly. This is something that is being addressed in the upcoming v2 software that is due quite soon. There is no official release date for this software at the moment, but keep an eye on the Announcements tab... as soon as there is a solid answer, it will be posted there.
