Hi,
I have an Eventide Eclipse in the FX Loop of an Axe-FX Ultra and am trying to sync the time between the Eclipse and the Axe-FX.
I have set it up like this.....
Eclipse Ch2 Time source midi click out
MIDI OUT to MIDI IN (a loop)
MIDI Through to Axe-FX IN
Axe-FX Ch1 MIDI Clock IN
this works fine and the Axe-FX follows the time that I set on the Eclipse.
When I put the Ground Control Pro into the Elipse MIDI Loop like this...
Eclipse Ch2 Time source midi click out
Elipse MIDI OUT to MIDI IN on Ground Control Pro
MIDI Out on Ground Control Pro to MIDI IN on the Eclipse
MIDI Through on the Eclipse to Axe-FX IN
Axe-FX Ch1 MIDI Clock IN
the Program changes and CC's are send and received as planned, BUT the Axe-FX does not respond to the tempo changes that occur on the Eclipse.
it is as if the Ground Control Pro is filtering out the MIDI Clock.
Any ideas?
thanks
Ground Control Pro (version 1.13) filter out Midi Clock???

Sorry for the delay, we have been in Germany for about two weeks for the Musik Messe show and I was without a reliable WiFi connection.
Yes, the current Ground Control Pro software will filter out MIDI Clock information as you have concluded.
A MIDI Merger is really your best solution as it will prevent you from having to run a long cable all the way back to the MIDI In of the Ground Control Pro. I assume the crux of the problem is that you need the MIDI information from both the Eclipse MIDI Out and MIDI Thru to be sent to the AxeFX MIDI In... basically no matter what you do, one of these devices is filtering out some necessary message types. Simply routing the Eclipse MIDI Out and MIDI Thru to the Inputs on your merger then running the Out of the Merger to the AxeFX MIDI In should solve the problem.
I hope that helps!

Re: Ground Control Pro (version 1.13) filter out Midi Clock?
Hi John,
thanks for the confirmation, yes I need to output the Thru AND Out from the Eclipse, the Thru to allow the Axe-FX to receive the commands from the GCP. But I also need the MIDI clock fromt he Eclipse out too.
You are right, running an extra cable was a bit of a pain so hoping that the MIDI Merge box will solve my issues.
Hope you enjoyed germany
Digging the GCP, I can't believe how easy it is to program compared to the others I have tried!
