Phantom Power Issue

Post by RadioohRadio »

Hi Everybody,
I recently purchased a GCX and GCP, along with a 5 pin MIDI cable, however, when I plugged the GCP in to the GCX, there was no phantom power signal running to the GCP. I'm going to assume that it is because the cable may only be active on 3 pins. My question is, if I run my GCP off of the supplied adapter, and run the MIDI cable to the GCX, would I be doing any damage to either? The GCP powers up fine with the adapter, and sends MIDI signals to the GCX with no problem. Any advice?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Chris

You are correct in thinking that likely the MIDI cable does not have all 5 pins wired. It would be perfectly fine to power the Ground Control Pro with the supplied adapter while using this cable.
