Any Mods on regular US version of Pedal Power 2 Plus 120V??

Post by wnembangsubba »

I recently bought a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus power supply for my pedalboard, here in the United States of America. I will be travelling to Nepal very soon where the regular voltage is 240V. My question is: Is there a way I can use the same power supply, maybe with a different power chord? I would love to know a method, if there is one, where I can just exchange a chord to use it in different parts of the world. I dont want to use a transformer to step down the voltage. Or do I need to buy a completely new unit? If I need to buy a completely need unit, where can I buy one? Thanx

Simply replacing the power cord will not work. This will result in damage to the power supply.

A step down transformer is the least expensive and likely least hassle solution.
A fully loaded Pedal Power 2+ consumes less than 20 Watts from the mains line so unless you are also using the Courtesy Outlet you should be able to use a fairly low cost step down transformer.

Do you have other devices being powered directly from the mains voltage?
